Ahead of the European Council meeting on 19 June, News Media Europe calls for strong and systemic support measures at EU and national level to recover from the crisis.

News Media Europe joins 94 organisations from across the media, cultural and creative sector, and calls on Member States and the European Parliament:

  • To push for a substantial increase of the Creative Europe budget. We fully support the European Parliament’s proposal for a budget of €2.8bn.
  • To guarantee that the sector, including news media, can benefit appropriately from the recovery plan’s various instruments.
